When my father died, I ran out of words. I decided to make a hundred paintings of pots. Intended as a crash-refresher course in painting, the series took on a life of its own. Funeral urns became jugs of wine, sea going vessels, containers of fish, receptacles of silence. Then the pot people appeared. In all, this lasted about 15 years. Formats range from 9” x 12” on paper to 24” x 24” on board. In 2017 the concept turned into a book. (Ltd. edition of 100 copies, available by inquiry.)
